Recently, we took the time to speak to Pauline, the Chef at Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool in Ower and asked her a few questions about her experience of working in early years. Read on to hear Pauline’s story.
“I work as a Nursery Chef at Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool based in Ower.”
“The fact that you can make a difference. What first inspired me was the ability to help parents with different stages of weaning and dealing with allergies.”
“I began my catering career back in 2006 at Kiddi Caru Whiteley and have now work at Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool in Ower”
“I really enjoy having the opportunity to cook a variety of foods for the children and involving them in the cooking process wherever possible.”
“Very exciting. Usually it involves talking to the children about what they like eating!”
“The most rewarding part of my job is being around such a wonderful team and being able to serve food to the children.”
“My main advice for someone starting a job in childcare is to think about how you can make a difference to the children.”
“For my wellbeing day, I plan on spending time outside and taking my dog on a long walk.”
At our nurseries we take great care to provide children with nutritious and wholesome food, prepared by fully qualified professionals. We also plan our daily nursery menus to include fresh and varied options that are suitable for each age group. Naturally we also cater for all individual dietary needs.
