Welcome to The Winchmore Hill Day Nursery and Preschool, a friendly and caring nursery where children are supported to grow, learn, and thrive. We provide a nurturing environment where families can feel confident their child is safe, happy, and valued, with inspiring experiences that support each child’s development.
At The Winchmore Hill Nursery, children are at the centre of everything we do. We provide a nurturing setting where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Our approach focuses on wellbeing, creativity, and positive emotional development, helping every child reach their full potential.
We are proud to have received an ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted. This reflects our commitment to the highest standards of Early Years education, wellbeing, and care, ensuring every child receives the best possible start.
Our location
Our Winchmore Hill Day Nursery and Preschool is at the very end of Green Lanes, conveniently located for local shops including Sainsbury’s and Waitrose. We are also well located for Winchmore Hill train station, which is around ten minutes walk, making us a convenient choice for parents commuting across London.

Curriculum
At The Winchmore Hill Nursery, children are at the centre of everything we do. We provide a nurturing setting where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Our approach focuses on wellbeing, creativity, and positive emotional development, helping every child reach their full potential. Our Early Years curriculum is child‑centred and play‑based, combining structured learning with opportunities for exploration and creativity. Through play, children develop key cognitive, physical, and emotional skills in a joyful and age‑appropriate way. We focus on helping children develop physically through indoor and outdoor play, while encouraging creativity, communication, confidence, and emotional wellbeing. Our preschool supports children as they prepare for their next stage of education, helping them develop independence, resilience, and a love of learning as they move forward to school.
Team
Our dedicated and highly qualified team of Early Years professionals is passionate about providing the best care and education for every child. We invest in our staff through ongoing training and professional development, allowing them to grow within their roles and deliver the highest standards of childcare. We recognise that every child is unique. Our team takes time to understand each child’s individual interests, stage of development, and educational needs, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.
Parent Partnership
We believe strong parent partnerships have a positive impact on children’s development. We work closely with families to share feedback, understand each child’s needs, and support learning at home and nursery. Our nursery app provides regular updates on your child’s day, including activities, meals, photos, and development milestones. Parents also receive opportunities to share feedback, attend parent evenings, and join us for special events such as seasonal celebrations and preschool graduation.
Playrooms
Winchmore Hill day nursery offers well‑designed facilities that support children’s learning, wellbeing, and creativity. We have five spacious playrooms across two floors, a dedicated sensory room, and a calm sleep room for babies. Children also enjoy our Visual Art Studio with a qualified art teacher and a secure garden with a bespoke pirate ship for outdoor play. Each playroom is carefully set up with age appropriate equipment to support physical development and individual interests.
Garden
Outdoor play is an important part of our daily routine. Our lovely, enclosed garden provides children with space to explore nature, develop physical skills, and enjoy fresh air through messy play, gardening, and imaginative play.
Food and Nutrition
Fresh, nutritious meals and snacks are prepared daily by our on‑site chef, supporting children’s wellbeing and energy throughout the day.
Activities
At our Winchmore Hill day nursery, we host a wide variety of activities with age appropriate equipment for all our children to enjoy! We hold Ana’s art lessons, who is a trained art teacher, in our Visual Art Studio, hold regular yoga sessions, have a kindness club and a Sensory room for our under two year olds to take part in calming sensory activities.
Community Outings
We see the benefit that outings in the local community can bring to each and every child, we make sure we regularly take our children out for local adventures. We visit the local parks so children have more opportunities for outdoor play, visit the local library for special reading time and to discover new books, or a visit to the local store to buy fresh ingredients and snacks to eat at our nursery. We value our connection with the local community and regularly take children out to explore nearby parks, libraries, and shops, helping them develop confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging.
