Our Winchmore Hill day nursery provides a warm, creative and nurturing environment where our children are at the heart of everything we do. Curriculum

Our thoughtfully designed curriculum is child centred, blending structured learning with play, promoting a creative approach that provides academic and social development in a joyful safe setting. Parent Partnership

We use our nursery app to maintain good communication with our parents. This user-friendly platform keeps you connected with your child’s daily activities, meals, and milestones, offering easy access to photos and notes from our caring team. The app also facilitates seamless communication for questions or feedback and a place to find important announcements and reminders about special events. Our goal is to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all families, and our nursery app plays a crucial role in achieving that.

We also keep our parents up to date with twice year parents evenings and we engage our parents in special events such as our Christmas performance, mothers and fathers day events. We also hold a graduation event for our preschool children as they embark on their next phase of education.

Facilities

Our Winchmore Hill day nursery has five spacious and well resourced classrooms spread over two floors, as well as a sleeping room and a sensory room. Our large landing and hallway areas provide space to display children’s artwork and we also have a dedicated listening station for children to quietly listen to stories outside of their classroom.

Outside our thoughtfully designed garden includes a bespoke pirate ship to ensure children’s imaginations can run wild with play and physical development.

Playrooms

Our spacious well resourced playrooms are designed to facilitate the best educational start for babies and children in a nurturing, safe environment. Our playrooms are designed to meet the needs of the children in the room, with the use of age appropriate equipment and activities set up each day to meet the interests and educational needs of individual children in them. Our playrooms are loosely based on age range, but children progress to the next room based on their readiness to move into the next room.

All of our playrooms for under two year olds are downstairs, with a maximum of twelve children in each room ensuring a calm spacious environment in each room. Our sensory room for times when children need a quieter space for more focused learning is also on the ground floor along with our baby sleeping room. On the first floor we have three further classrooms for our children aged two years and upwards. Our Art Studio can be found on this floor too where we hold regular art lessons for our older children with our highly trained art teacher.

Garden

We have a lovely, enclosed garden space at the front of our nursery which has a bespoke climbing frame to look like a pirate ship! Our garden is available to each and every child to enjoy outdoor play activities such as messy play in our mud kitchen and growing plants and produce in our growing garden.

Activities

At our Winchmore Hill day nursery, we host a wide variety of activities with age appropriate equipment for all our children to enjoy! We hold Ana’s art lessons, who is a trained art teacher, in our Visual Art Studio, hold regular yoga sessions, have a kindness club and a Sensory room for our under two year olds to take part in calming sensory activities.

Community Outings

At our nursery, we see the benefit that outings in the local community can bring to each and every child! Therefore we make sure we regularly take our children out for local adventures. We visit the local parks so children have more opportunities for outdoor play, visit the local library for special reading time and to discover new books, a visit the local store to by fresh ingredients and snacks to eat at our nursery.
