Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool Webbs Wood Road, celebrates Ofsted ‘Good’ rating

We’re delighted to share that Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool, Webbs Wood Road in Bradley Stoke, Bristol, has been rated ‘GOOD’ in all areas following its Ofsted inspection on 19 September 2025!

This fantastic result reflects the team’s dedication, expertise, and passion for providing high-quality early education and care. The inspection praised the nursery’s nurturing environment, engaging curriculum, and strong leadership – all of which help children to thrive, explore, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Highlights from the Webbs Wood Road Ofsted report

A calm, nurturing environment

Ofsted commended the warm and attentive relationships staff build with children, creating a calm, emotionally secure atmosphere where every child feels valued. Staff are responsive to individual needs and encourage independence from the very start. As inspectors noted, children benefit from an environment that “promotes exploration, independence and familiarity with routines.”

A language-rich and engaging curriculum

The nursery’s thoughtfully designed curriculum supports children’s communication, curiosity, and connection with the world around them. Staff weave children’s interests into play, ensuring learning feels natural and engaging. Ofsted highlighted that the curriculum has been “shaped by the staff team, based on a clear understanding of what children need to learn and why,” creating a shared sense of purpose and pride.

Reading plays a key role in nursery life, with staff using books and stories to nurture early literacy. A lending library and themed story bags help families continue this love of reading at home, with Ofsted noting how “children join in with repeated refrains and identify characters and settings,” strengthening early language skills and imagination.

Supporting communication and physical development

Children at Webbs Wood Road take part in engaging activities such as ‘Sing and Sign’, which helps them build vocabulary and confidence. Staff model age-appropriate language and descriptive words to extend understanding. Outdoors, children develop physical strength and coordination through climbing, balancing, and exploring well-planned garden spaces. Ofsted found that “children make good progress in their physical development,” supported by staff who encourage movement and risk-taking in a safe and supportive way.

Inclusive practice and sensory exploration

Inclusivity is celebrated throughout the nursery, where diversity is represented meaningfully through stories, discussions, and resources. Sensory play also features strongly, from water and textured dough to natural materials that encourage curiosity and creativity. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive tailored support, and the team continues to build on strategies that enhance communication and engagement for all.

Strong partnerships and reflective leadership

Ofsted recognised the strength of parent partnerships, supported through regular events such as open days, themed picnics, and parents’ evenings. Daily updates, newsletters, and a dedicated parents’ board help families stay connected to their child’s nursery journey.

Leaders were praised for their commitment to staff well-being and professional development, ensuring that every team member feels supported and valued. Regular supervision, training, and reflection sessions help staff refine their practice and deliver the best outcomes for children.
