We’re delighted to share that Kiddi Caru Day Nursery and Preschool Coronation Road in Downend, Bristol, has been rated ‘GOOD’ in all areas following its latest Ofsted inspection on 23 May 2025!

This achievement recognises the dedication of the nursery’s passionate team and highlights the inspiring, inclusive environment they’ve created to support every child’s development. Ofsted praised the setting’s strong leadership, focus on wellbeing, and a thoughtfully sequenced curriculum designed to nurture confident, curious, and capable learners.

A safe, stimulating, and supportive space

Children thrive in this welcoming and engaging nursery. From the moment they arrive, children form secure bonds with staff who are consistently warm, responsive, and attentive. New babies settle quickly, and all children demonstrate that they feel safe and confident in their surroundings.

Curriculum that builds on what children know

Ofsted recognised the nursery’s well-structured and sequenced approach to learning, designed to support progress in all areas of development. Babies build early physical strength by navigating age-appropriate climbing frames, while older children enhance fine motor skills by using tweezers and spray bottles. These hands-on activities help prepare children for writing and school readiness.

Communication and language at the heart of learning

Children are exposed to rich vocabulary through stories, songs, and imaginative play. Staff support conversations through open-ended questions and familiar stories like ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ brought to life in playful environments. While some improvements are needed to allow children more time to think and respond, children are confident communicators who enjoy sharing their ideas.

Encouraging positive behaviour and independence

Children are supported to make positive choices through daily reinforcement of the nursery’s ‘golden rules’. They demonstrate kindness, collaboration, and growing independence, pouring their own drinks and helping with routines. Staff model respectful behaviour and praise children regularly, helping build self-esteem and strong social awareness.

Focus on health, wellbeing, and community connection

The nursery encourages healthy habits through nutritious meals, oral health education, and effective hygiene routines. Children also enjoy visits from local services like the fire brigade and police, supporting a sense of connection to the wider world. Music and movement sessions with visiting musicians further enrich the nursery experience.
