Growing our network: First Place Nurseries join Grandir UK

We’re thrilled to announce that First Place Nurseries, with three established settings across Radlett, Bushey and Beaconsfield, has officially joined the Grandir UK family, taking our nursery setting count to 99!

This marks another positive step in our continued growth, strengthening our presence in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire and allowing us to support even more families with enriching, high-quality early years education and care.

Why this partnership matters

Welcoming First Place Nurseries into the Grandir UK family is about more than growth. It’s about ensuring long-term sustainability, strengthening operational support, and creating enhanced opportunities for children, families and colleagues.

By joining Grandir UK, these local nurseries benefit from the backing of an experienced national provider, with the infrastructure and investment needed to support them for the future. This includes:

  • Continued investment in learning environments and resources
  • Access to specialist expertise, including SEN support
  • Expanded professional development and career pathways for staff
  • A robust quality assurance framework aligned to the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Central safeguarding, compliance and operational support

For families, this provides reassurance that their nursery retains its close-knit local character and trusted team, while gaining the stability and strength of a wider organisation.

What families can expect

For families, day-to-day nursery life will continue as normal. Children will remain with their familiar practitioners, in the same environments, following the routines that help them feel secure and confident.

Over time, families will notice additional benefits that come from being part of a larger group, such as:

  • Enhanced communication and parent engagement processes
  • Access to wider resources, bespoke educational programmes and specialist knowledge
  • Continued investment in facilities and equipment
  • Opportunities to benefit from group-wide initiatives and best practice

Our priority is to ensure a smooth transition, with clear communication and minimal disruption throughout.

Looking ahead

This new chapter creates opportunities for collaboration, shared learning and continued investment across the three settings. Our focus remains clear: to support strong local nurseries with national expertise, so that every child receives high-quality care and education in a safe, nurturing environment.

We’re excited to welcome the First Place teams and families into the Grandir UK network and look forward to the exciting journey ahead.
