We’re excited to share that West Drayton Day Nursery and Preschool has been officially rated ‘GOOD’ in all areas following our latest Ofsted inspection on 14 May 2025!
This fantastic result is a true reflection of the passion, professionalism, and hard work of our dedicated team, who go above and beyond every day to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive space where every child can thrive.
The Ofsted report highlighted the nursery’s welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, noting:
“Staff create a welcoming and inclusive environment… This approach is particularly beneficial for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).”
Staff were praised for working closely with external professionals, such as speech therapists, to meet individual needs. This collaborative approach helps ensure children feel secure, supported, and confident to explore and learn.
The nursery’s rich and balanced curriculum was recognised as another key strength. Themes like endangered species encourage curiosity and knowledge-building through hands-on learning. Babies delight in roaring like lions during song sessions, while preschool children actively engage in outdoor nature hunts, identifying butterflies and insects—experiences that spark imagination and joy.
Inspectors also noted that staff communicate with children in their home languages during group activities, which enhances understanding and promotes inclusion, especially for those learning English as an additional language.
The management team received commendation for its strong leadership and continuous reflection. Leaders seek feedback from families and staff, resulting in positive changes like rolling mealtimes, which have created a calmer atmosphere and improved supervision and allergy management.
Health, hygiene, and safety were also spotlighted, with staff following thorough risk assessments and infection control procedures. From handwashing routines to the use of protective equipment, these practices promote children’s well-being and ensure a safe, clean environment.
The report also celebrated how the team encourages independence in everyday routines. Babies are supported to feed themselves, and preschoolers confidently wash their hands and manage tasks during mealtimes. During group sessions, older children lead songs using gestures, showcasing growing social confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
Inspectors praised the nursery’s approach to early literacy and creativity, such as when children draw ‘caterpillars’ to develop fine motor and storytelling skills.
Families attending the nursery shared glowing feedback with Ofsted, praising the staff’s dedication, strong communication, and efforts to include them in nursery life. Cultural and community events, like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day celebrations, were highlighted as meaningful ways the nursery builds connections with families.
“The team and I are over the moon! I am so proud of everyone, the hard work, dedication and passion strongly reflects through our report too.”
