Muswell Hill Day Nursery and Preschool in Tetherdown Celebrates Ofsted ‘Good’ Rating

We are thrilled to share that Muswell Hill Day Nursery and Preschool in Tetherdown has been rated ‘GOOD’ across all areas of assessment in their latest Ofsted inspection, which took place on 17 March 2025!

Highlights from Muswell Hill Day Nursery Ofsted Report

The recent Ofsted inspection praised the nursery for its welcoming and nurturing environment, stating: “Children are happy to attend the nursery and quickly engage in activities on arrival each day.” Staff were recognised for their strong relationships with children and families, ensuring a supportive setting that encourages learning and development.

One of the key strengths highlighted was the nursery’s approach to fostering independence in children. The inspector noted: “Babies begin feeding themselves with a spoon, toddlers self-serve their food, and the oldest children choose what they would like to eat for lunch and serve themselves.” This emphasis on independence helps children develop confidence and essential life skills.

The inspector also acknowledged the nursery’s well-planned curriculum, which is designed to equip children with essential skills for school readiness. They reported: “The curriculum is structured well to help children develop the skills they will need when they start school.” Engaging activities such as fine motor skill exercises and hands-on learning experiences help children explore and develop their abilities in a structured and stimulating way.

Safeguarding was another area that received positive recognition, with the report highlighting: ‘There is an open and positive culture around safeguarding that puts children’s interests first.” This ensures that the well-being and safety of every child remain a top priority.
