The preschool children at Kiddi Caru Leighton Buzzard celebrated Science Week by creating their own Volcanoes! The experiment required soil, vinegar, washing up liquid and bicarbonate of soda. The children demonstrated excellent sharing and turn taking to make sure everyone had a go at making the Volcano erupt. It was loads of fun, with lots of children predicting what they thought would happen. They all used expressive language to describe what happened when the substances mixed. As well as, cries of ‘wow’ and ‘can we do it again?’ The practitioners sent home an ingredients list for the children to try at home working in partnership with parents. We hope these activities spark the children’s curiosity and helps to nurture a love of science.
