The preschoolers have shown a great interest in dinosaurs and their outside environment. So, the team decided to combine the two interests! The little ones collected soil and logs from the garden and Forest School area and used water to create a dinosaur swamp! The children created mud using one handed tools and equipment to mix the water and soil. All the while, they used complex sentences and words, such as ‘sloppy’, ‘wet’ and ‘cold’, to describe how the different areas of the swamp felt. The children looked closely at their dinosaur toys and highlighted the similarities and differences between them.
