Kiddi Caru Matford Gruffalo Week

The babies had a fantastic time celebrating ‘Gruffalo Week’. They took part in lots of sensory activities, one of their favourites was exploring the story sack. This consisted of the team reading the story and revealing different items to help bring it to life. Another firm favourite was the nature sensory tray, filled with items such as pine cone and log slices for the little ones to feel and explore.

The children loved the sensory experience so much that the team decided to extend it further. So, they provided natural seasonal fruit and vegetables, such as pumpkins, for the babies to create beautiful pictures. The little ones explored the pumpkins texture, inside and out, before using them to print with. They found it easy to grip the stalks and said, ‘Wow’. to the patterns left on the paper.
