The toddlers have been looking at different shapes and how they can replicate them using different resources. Two children chose to use the lolly pop sticks to follow the outlines of different shapes. They then counted how many sticks they had used and looked around the room for other shapes in the environment. Following on from the children’s interest in shapes, the little ones enjoyed looking at photographs of famous buildings from around the world and built them out of the small wooden blocks. The children decided they wanted to construct their buildings with shaving foam to stick the bricks together to make their towers stronger.
