Our Support Office in Basingstoke, part of Grandir UK, is currently looking for a Financial Controller to join our team. Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will lead a growing Finance team. Working alongside the Head of FP&A you’ll be the central point of coordination of all our finance activities, from leading management accounts and payroll, and producing statutory accounts.

The Financial Controller will not only be responsible for managing the financial, administrative functions of the company, but also be responsible for improving the performance of the Group by working in collaboration with the Operations team any value creation tools. As The FC CFO will be accountable for, financial governance, record-keeping, and reporting.

The FC will direct all internal controls, including financial policies and procedures, and will be responsible for recommending improvements to ensure the integrity of Grandir UK’s financial information. Identifying opportunities and risks will be a core competence for success.

Financial Controller

Role

The Financial Controller duties and responsibilities are described below. Grandir UK is looking for a performance leader with strong collaborative skills.

Leadership

  • In partnership with the CFO and Head of FP&A, provide leadership in setting the objectives, and developing and implementing sound operating and financial plans, for the Company to meet its goals and objectives.
  • Manage and direct the Finance department.
  • Execute methods of improving business performance to achieve financial and operational goals
  • Ensure direct reports have clear goals and adequate training and mentoring is provided.
  • Oversee the running of payroll for all monthly paid staff.

Financial Reporting

  • Manage all accounting operations and provide analysis and advice to support commercial decision-making.
  • Producing statutory accounts.
  • Manage all banking facilities.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial results. Prepare and review results on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Prepare internal financial reports, including monthly cash flow, management accounts, financial statements, and variance analysis reports.
  • Oversee the annual audit of financial results.
  • Ensure co-ordination of financial information requests for consolidation and Group Reporting.
  • Communicate all financial matters and issues with the CFO and Senior Management Team.

Tax Planning

  • Oversee the preparation of annual tax returns and ensure tax compliance.
  • Ensure Grandir UK meets all its tax obligations while concurrently ensuring the company adopts effective ethical tax planning measures.
  • Liaise with tax advisors when necessary.

     

    Specification:

    Grandir UK’s FC will ideally bring experience gained from working in multi-site operations and partnerships.

    More specifically:

    • A finance executive with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in high growth organisations. Preference will be given to those who have worked in multi-site environments. National/international experience is considered an asset.
    • Previous experience of working in a PE backed or Group reporting environment is a plus
    • Take a long-term approach to opportunities and risks while creating value for the organisation.
    • Previous experience leading financial business process(es) within an organisation.
    • Proven organisational skills and planning ability.
    • Analytical and strong system experience
    • Advanced Excel to include Pivot tables, and macros
    • Strong interpersonal skills

      Education:

      • Degree-qualification in numerate discipline preferreD
      • Professional finance qualification – ACA, ACCA or CIMA
