Nursery rhymes play an important role in early childhood. They help children master key skills such as language and communication, social, physical and emotional skills. Children benefit from singing and joining in with the simplest of rhymes. The team promoted this with the children throughout the week. The children had opportunities to explore porridge oats and made their own porridge whilst singing, ‘When Goldilocks lived in the house of the bears’. They explored the garden singing flower and autumnal songs. Lots of creative activities also took place, such as making giant wheels on the bus and hats for ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’.
