Our Support Office in Basingstoke, part of Grandir UK, is currently looking for a Recruitment Officer to join our team. The Recruitment Officer will play a key role in supporting our Nursery Managers and Operations Teams across our UK network, ensuring we maintain a continuous flow of high calibre childcare practitioners to supply our growing customer base. Your main responsibility will be to manage the deployment of agency/temporary workers across Grandir UK settings that have a need for agency support.

The shift pattern with this role is Monday to Friday 07:00 – 15:30.

Recruitment Officer

Role

  • Support and implement our overall recruitment strategy, particularly the usage of temporary agency workers
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including candidates, managers, and agencies
  • Manage the Recruitment Inbox
  • Ensure data regarding agency worker placements is accurately recorded and PO numbers are distributed to external agencies in a timely manner
  • Ensure agency workers are vetted to Grandir UK standards, collating vetting forms and liaise with Compliance if risk assessments are required
  • Conducting interviews where required, provide feedback and liaise with internal clients.
  • Updating the recruitment SharePoint and applicant tracking system and ensuring effective use to ensure accurate reporting of candidate activity at all times
  • Facilitating or attending recruitment events
  • Manage the AWR process to ensure compliance with legislation
  • Liaise with Nursery Managers when agency workers are unavailable, arranging cover where required
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the Company’s processing operations, information systems, data security processes and needs, administrative rules and policies, procedures and promote data security awareness.
  • Ensure the Company remains legally compliant with safer recruitment and employment regulations, and in line with the company’s Safer Recruitment Policy
  • Keep spreadsheets and databases up to date, analysing and interpreting data when requested
  • Generally, support the recruitment function and cover when other members are on absent
  • Support the aims and ethos of the Company, setting a good example in terms of dress, behaviour, punctuality and attendance
  • Maintain confidentiality in the workplace and set a good example in terms of dress and behaviour, maintaining the good reputation of the organisation at all times
  • Any other tasks that can be reasonably expected in relation to the role

Specification:

  • Highly organised, self-motivated and able work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proven track record in recruitment, in-house or agency (experience in the Early Years sector would be advantageous)
  • Can demonstrate calm and objectivity when under pressure
  • Commercially aware, result orientation and problem solving
  • An awareness of the latest employment legislation, including National Minimum Wage
  • Able to create reports and provide data analysis
  • Strong IT skills, particularly the Microsoft office suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships and to relate professionally at all levels
  • A highly motivated team player with a flexible, positive and proactive approach to work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Diligent and excellent attention to detail
  • Able to maintain discretion where required
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload
  • Capable of working well as part of a team as well as independently
