Our location
Located in the heart of Hitchin near Park Gate shops, our nursery is easily accessible for families across the town and surrounding areas. We take advantage of strong links with the local community and often explore nearby parks and nature spaces during regular outings.
Whether you are travelling from Hitchin town centre or nearby residential areas, our setting is convenient for drop‑offs, pick‑ups, and family routines.
About Our Nursery
Our curriculum
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the Hygge methodology, offering a calm, balanced approach to learning that supports each child’s development through play, exploration, and discovery. We also offer a range of bespoke educational programmes to promote further learning.
All activities are designed to reflect children’s interests and support their progress across all areas of learning, focusing on building confidence, independence, and curiosity, supporting communication and early language development, encouraging creativity, arts, and problem‑solving, developing social skills and emotional wellbeing, Preparing children for school with early literacy and numeracy and helping children learn about the world through hands‑on exploration.

Our team
Our Nursery Manager and highly trained team of Early Years professionals, including Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs), create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported. All the staff are committed to providing the best possible care and education, helping children develop at their own pace.
Parent partnerships
We believe strong parent partnerships are essential. Families receive regular updates on their child’s routines, learning, and well-being through our Grandir UK app and can engage in daily conversations with staff. We work closely with families to ensure every child feels supported both at home and in nursery, creating a shared approach to their development and happiness.
Playrooms
Our well‑resourced playrooms provide a creative, nurturing environment where children can explore, discover, and learn through engaging activities. Each space includes age‑appropriate play equipment that supports children’s interests, well-being, and development. Children move between rooms based on readiness rather than age, ensuring each child’s individual journey is supported with the best possible care. Bumblebees (Babies) – A calm, nurturing space for early discovery and sensory exploration. Ladybirds (Younger Toddlers) – A warm, welcoming environment that encourages communication, confidence, and creative play. Caterpillars (Older Toddlers) – A stimulating room where children develop independence, social skills, and curiosity. Butterflies (Preschool) – A purposeful Early Years Foundation Stage environment preparing children for school through activities designed to build confidence and readiness. Our highly trained team ensures high-quality care and a positive nursery experience for every child.
Our garden
Our outdoor area includes natural spaces, a mud kitchen, and a variety of play equipment that encourages physical development, creativity, and exploration. Children enjoy spending time outdoors in all seasons, discovering nature and building confidence through hands‑on play.

Activities
We offer a variety of activities designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and development. Children enjoy nature walks, yoga sessions, sports, and arts‑based experiences that support well-being, exploration, and Early Years learning. These engaging activities help children discover new interests, build confidence, and enjoy a fun, nurturing nursery experience.
Community outings
We regularly explore the Hitchin community, visiting local parks, nature areas, and nearby places of interest. These outings help children discover the world around them, develop social confidence, and enjoy real‑life learning experiences.
