Children’s Book Recommendations for Spring

The springtime provides an excellent opportunity to enhance your little one’s understanding of the seasonal changes to the natural world.

That’s why this month, we have dedicated our children’s book recommendations to the spring season – for babies, toddlers and preschoolers!

Rosie Lee, our Nursery Manager at our Kiddi Caru Day Nursery in Hounslow has put together her top recommendations of children’s books about spring and lifecycles.

Babies: That’s not my chick by Fiona Watt

Meet five adorable chicks in this delightful Easter addition to the much-loved That’s not my… series. Babies love the best-selling That’s not my… books with their bold illustrations, patches to stroke, and a mouse to spot on every page, all designed to develop sensory and language awareness.

Toddlers: Busy Baby Animals by Ag Jatkowska

Meet lots of cute new arrivals in Busy Baby Animals, from lambs and piglets to ducklings and kittens. Young children can join in by pushing, pulling and turning the tabs to really bring the baby animals to life!

Preschool: Busy Spring: Nature Wakes Up by Sean Taylor

In this uplifting picture book about spring, follow two children and their father through their backyard as they discover all the different ways nature wakes up from its long winter sleep.

Spot the busy creatures and plants as the tale unfolds, then learn about how each responds to the increasing daylight and warmth that usher in the season.
